Our Vision and Core Values

The experience of eating and sharing sharing fresh, homegrown food at your dinner table is so incredible, we want everyone to enjoy this simple honest pleasure. Our catalyzing statement, (yeah, the thing that gets us up every morning), is “Homegrown Food On Every Table”.

We value:

  • Soil
  • Water
  • Sunlight
  • Simplicity
  • Sustainability
  • Synergy
  • Authenticity
  • Integrity

We also like to have a bit of fun.

We don’t always live up to every piece of it, but we do strive for it. Especially that one about ‘authenticity’. With the internet setup the way it is, authenticity is vitally important to us. All of our contributors live the life and walk the talk.

As you browse this site, you’ll notice we don’t get into politics much, although it is fun to poke fun at politicians from time to time. We welcome all religions and even atheists . . . but who cannot be in touch with the Divine once you start growing food?

Our primary focus is on self-reliance skills and real solutions that work for everyday people.

We believe that true maturity and adulthood requires you have the basic skills to feed and cloth yourself, treat common illnesses, defend yourself appropriately, be able to lead and follow, and contribute to your community. And no, we aren’t all there yet. We’ve still got a bit of growing up to do ourselves. This site is intended to use the power of community to help all of us.

Since that bit about ‘feeding yourself’ is one of the more difficult nuts to crack, we tend to focus on that particular aspect a lot. Plus, we love eating good food!
