My jaw dropped when I opened the envelope and read the results.
Could this be true?!
I flipped through the pages again, trying to convince myself I was reading the results correctly.
My mind went blank as I stared at the numbers.
Wait a minute!
Did I remember that correctly?
I scrambled to find the results from the first test done two months earlier.

PFAF molecules are made up of carbon chains bonded to fluorine atoms.
The carbon-fluorine (C-F) bond is one of the strongest chemical bonds in nature.
This bond is so strong that natural processes like sunlight, heat, water, chemical reactions, and even time cannot easily break it down.
PFAS remain in the environment for hundreds or thousands of years.
What's worse is that PFAS are water- and lipid-resistant, which means they accumulate in soil, water, air, and the tissues of living organisms, including animals and fish.
And inside your body!
This resistance to degradation is why they are called "forever chemicals."
That is why I was so stunned when the lab results showed that we had destroyed all chemicals in my garden soil forever!
HOW DANGEROUS ARE PFAS?

PFAS are a group of human-made chemicals used in industrial and consumer products for their water-, grease-, and stain-resistant properties.
The biggest threat of PFAS is they bioaccumulate.
Since they don't break down, every time you are exposed to PFAS, you add more to your organs, muscles, fat, and blood.
WHERE ARE PFAS FOUND?

Unfortunately, PFAS are found everywhere.
PFAS have been used in a wide range of industrial and consumer products since the 1940s, including:
- Non-stick cookware (e.g., Teflon).
- Waterproof clothing and fabrics (raincoats, boots, gloves, shoes. Some well-known brands are Gortex, Nike, Addidas, Columbia, Patagonia, Puma, Marmot, and The North Face)
- Food packaging (e.g., grease-resistant paper, plastic bags, pizza boxes, microwave popcorn bags, plastic cling wrap).
- Stain-resistant carpets and furniture
- Pillows and mattresses that have fire retardants (basically all of them)
- Firefighting foam
- Cosmetics (e.g., waterproof mascara)
- Fruits, vegetables, grains, and greens grown in contaminated soils
- Meat, milk, eggs, and cheeses from animals grazing on contaminated soils or fed contaminated grains
You have much higher exposure to PFAS if you live near a military base or industrial complex.
The Palestine train wreck in Ohio and the Los Angeles fires created and spread massive amounts of PFAS (and other toxins) over vast areas well beyond the local disaster sites.
Most food production in Amish communities and the Central Valley of California has been contaminated.
THE PROBLEM IS BIGGER THAN YOU THINK
What happens when you flush a toilet in a city in the U.S.?
The sewage is processed, and the 'biosolids' are treated and composted.
The final product is commonly known as biosludge.
The processing doesn't do much, and the biosludge contains almost everything flushed down those toilets, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals like "Liquid Plummer," the wastes from hospitals and industry, and that old stuff your Aunt Myrtle flushed down the toilet.
Biosludge is loaded with all kinds of toxins. PFAS are no exception.
A 2016 study by Venkatesan and Halden analyzed biosolid samples collected from 94 publicly owned treatment plants across the United States.
PFAS were detected in 100% of the samples, with the most dangerous two, PFOS and PFOA, having the highest concentrations.
What happens to that compost?
50-60% of all biosolids produced in the U.S. is given or sold to farmers and end up
- Added to Farmland (used to fertilize crops like vegetables, fruit, corn, soybeans, potatoes, and wheat)
- Added to Pastureland (to fertilize grasslands used for foraging of livestock)
- Mine Reclamation Sites (to promote regrowth of vegetation)
- Forest Land (to enhance tree and forest growth)
- Public Land (widely used as a fertilizer in landscaping, parks, and golf courses)
YIKES!
These practices have been going on for decades.
We don't really know how many millions of acres in the U.S. are contaminated.
We can only guess...
And we must assume that most of the land, water, and air are contaminated.
MANY "ORGANIC" GARDEN SOIL MIXES ARE MADE WITH BIOSLUDGE
Did you know that many garden soil mixes are made from municipal sewage biosolids; some are labeled "organic" and certified by OMRI?
Here are just a few examples:
Milorganite (Milwaukee, WI, sold nation wide)
Description: One of the most well-known biosolids-based fertilizers produced by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD).
Recommended uses: Lawn care, gardening, and agricultural applications.
OMRI-Listed Compost (Various Locations)
Description: Some biosolids-based compost products are certified by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for use in organic agriculture.
Examples: Products like Nutri-Blend (California) and Earthlife (New England) are OMRI-listed and available in various regions.
Dillo Dirt (Austin, TX)
Description: A compost product made from biosolids and yard trimmings, sold by the City of Austin.
Recommended uses: Lawn and garden applications, landscaping, and soil enrichment.
Majestic Garden Soil (Puerto Rico)
Description: A compost product made from biosolids and yard trimmings, sold by Caribbean Compost.
Recommended uses: Lawn and garden applications and landscaping.
And it's not just the U.S.; the widespread use of PFAS has led to global contamination of water, soil, and air.
I KNOW OF FARMERS AND GARDENERS WHO USE BIOSLUDGE BUT BELIEVE THEY ARE PRODUCING CLEAN, ORGANIC FOOD
Of course, they believe they are growing clean, organic food - because the labels and the 'authorities" say it's safe.
Because of the high nitrogen content, plants do grow like crazy with this "shit."
THE DIRTY SECRET OF "ORGANIC" FOOD
In 2012, Stanford University did a study titled "Are Organic Foods Safer or Healthier Than Conventional Alternatives? A Systematic Review".
It was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
The study reviewed over 200 studies comparing organic and conventional foods.
The primary finding was that organic foods were not significantly more nutritious than conventionally grown foods.
Organic foods had a 30% lower risk of pesticide contamination, but aside from the pesticide levels, there was no substantial evidence that organic foods were significantly healthier or safer than conventional foods.
The study did not test for PFAS.
Since that study, the "Organic" brand and standards have been even more deeply compromised, so it's likely significantly worse now.
THIS IS FRAUD!
WHY ISN'T THE GOV'T DOING SOMETHING?
The Government may be the main culprit!
Since at least the 1970s, the EPA has known about the dangers of PFAS.
They are also well aware that biosludge is loaded with toxins.
The Government actively encourages the use of biosludge.
Thankfully, People are starting to become aware of the problem.
Since 2015, at least 30 major lawsuits have been filed against the EPA, and thousands of lawsuits have been filed against PFAF manufacturers (e.g., DuPont, 3M) for their role in producing and distributing these chemicals.
But the legal system is a slow and laborious machine.
Meanwhile, PFAS continue to accumulate in our soils, rivers, lakes, oceans, air, and bodies.
WHAT CAN I DO TO PROTECT MYSELF?
Do your best to minimize exposure to PFAS.
I'm guessing you already know to avoid Teflon pans.
You probably filter your water.
And you generally choose natural fibers for your clothes and bedding.
If I had to guess, you're already growing some or all of your own food. Congratulations on that! (If you aren't growing your own food, let me know and I'll show you how).
You are probably reading this because you are part of The Grow Network Community, you heard me on a podcast or the radio or saw me on television or live on a stage.
I've helped millions of people to grow food in their backyards, patios, or small farms.
Growing your own food is the most important thing you can do.
Essentially, the entire commercial food system is toxic.
You need to recognize the importance of detoxing the soil where you grow your food.
HOW DID YOU COME ACROSS THIS SOIL DETOX PROTOCOL?
I was invited to join the Earth Council, formerly known as the Council of 12.
Two men in the group claimed to have an all-natural process to detoxify soil.
They said they could destroy PFAS, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, glyphosate, and other toxins with a natural, simple, straightforward process.
Frankly, I didn't believe them.
That's a huge claim, and I thought they were full of it.
They kept bringing it up during our regular meetings, and I kept writing them off.
I had never heard of these guys, and there is little information on the internet about them.
Plus, their claims were preposterous... Right?
However, the biggest problem backyard growers face is soil toxicity.
And I've been looking everywhere for solutions.
So I thought, "This is easy enough to test; why not try it out?".
I built a raised garden bed and topped it with compost known to contain biosludge.
Yes, the stuff I bought at Home Depot was labeled "ORGANIC."
I took an initial soil sample and sent it to the lab.
Then, I planted what I had on hand, including basil, peppers, and scallions.
I then started applying the Minerals & Microbes Soil Detox Kit.
I applied the product approximately every two weeks.
After two months, I no longer had access to that garden, so I took a final sample and sent it to the lab.
The lab took a month to process my samples, but even before I sent it in, I knew something was different....
You see, the "shit soil" right out of the bag has a funky chemical nasty smell.
It isn't very good.
While taking the final sample, I noticed something that excited me.
The smell of the detoxed soil had changed; it almost smelled sweet.
Frankly, it smelled good, with the deep, earthy smell of fresh, rich, healthy, living soil.
And then, when I got the results showing that the PFAS had been destroyed, I was awestruck!

WHAT ABOUT HEAVY METALS?
The guys who have developed this Minerals & Microbes protocol claim that heavy metals will be transmuted.
Frankly, it's hard to believe.
This is going well outside of the chemistry taught to me in university.
The school system seems to produce indoctrinated consumers and employees.
Proper education, science, critical thinking skills, and innovation appear to have been actively suppressed.

Yes!
Various microbes are known to break down glyphosate, the active ingredient in many herbicides like Roundup.
More than 1,000 species of soil microbes are in the Minerals & Microbes Soil Detox Kit.
And some of them are the specialized microbes that break down glyphosate.

ARE THERE ANY SYNTHETIC CHEMICALS IN THE KIT?

If your garden is on a typical suburban lot, it's roughly a quarter acre.
You can make 20 applications with one Minerals & Microbes Soil Detox Kit.
That is more than enough for a full year of detoxification and mineralization.
The entire kit would cover a 5-acre farm.
Several kits will be required if you are working to detox a 5-acre farm project.
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY PARTS IN THE KIT?

HOW DO YOU APPLY THE SOIL DETOX KIT?
It's easy! The kit is mixed and similar to making a quick compost tea.
I prefer to make a 5-gallon batch at a time. Five gallons is the perfect amount to cover a quarter of an acre (a typical suburban yard or your raised bed or container garden).
It's just like cooking: you can adjust the recipe for your desired quantity. There are seven components to the kit. Some are powders, and some are liquids. Add the ingredients to the bucket with clean water and stir it up. Rainwater, well water, or pond water (if reasonably clean) are the best sources.
City water will have chlorine and other microbe-killing agents, killing the microbes in the kit. If you only have city water, you can either let it sit for a few days or bubble it for at least 24 hours.
Don't worry; you'll get your complete directions. It is recommended that you use a wooden stick to stir the mixture. Then, apply it to the soil and your plant's leaves using a watering can or backpack sprayer.
Your kit has enough ingredients to make twenty 5-gallon batches, which is plenty for more than a year's worth of detoxing and mineralization for a quarter-acre lot (a typical suburban homestead).
